As a tax preparer, you'll work with clients who have uncommon or nontraditional types of income. It's important to understand the types of tax treatment that each kind of income receives, so this class will focus on exactly that.
We'll discuss income such as unemployment, public assistance and disaster relief; royalties, recoveries, and repayments, as well as cancelled debts and life insurance payouts.
With each of these, we'll discuss the tax rules that apply and any exclusion that your clients may qualify for.
