AYPO offers this class on additional schedules to help tax professionals prepare for a variety of clients.
In the class, we'll address the use of Schedule C to report income or loss from a business or sole proprietorship. We'll cover the different types of income that should be declared here, as well as expenses that may be capitalized.
We'll also look at Schedule F, which is intended for reporting of farm income and expenses. We'll cover the acceptable categories of farm which may use this schedules, as well as loss rules and at-risk investments.
Schedule J is designed for use by those in the fishing business. We'll talk about who qualifies to use it, and when the "three-year average" benefits taxpayers.
Lastly, we'll look at Schedule SE, which is used by those who owe taxes on income from self-employment. We'll review who is exempt from paying self-employment taxes, and we'll talk a bit about filing estimated taxes.
