This course will satisfy the required 20 hours of Continuing Education for California Tax Preparers, and will cover the required topics of ethics, federal updates, federal tax law, and California-specific tax law.
This package was designed specifically for Oregon Tax Professionals to renew their licenses. This course covers the Internal Revenue Service's Publication 17 with an introduction to ethics for tax preparers, then moves into the federal filing requirements and dates, the different federal filing statuses, personal and dependent exemptions, gross income, and standard and itemized deductions. Our courses have been approved by the IRS to meet your CE needs.
In this class we will specifically address California tax law. We will start with an overview of the federal tax changes which will affect 2018 tax returns, and look at how California does or does not conform to them.
This 24-hour course is a great refresher for enrolled agents, and will satisfy the ethics requirement as you complete one-third of your CE requirements. In this course, we'll cover important topics like the requirements for filing status; what qualifies as gross income and must be included on a tax return; how to make the appropriate income adjustments for clients; specific schedules that client may require; and an updated discussion of the credits available to taxpayers in 2018.
We'll conclude the course with an Ethics class specifically for tax preparers. This class will examine the definition of ethics, pivotal terms used in that discussion, and the taxpayer bill of rights.
